Last week we were joined by Harry who was on a week’s work experience with us. He is currently studying a BTEC in Business and wanted to get a feel for what it was like working in a modern business environment.
In Harry’s own words, here is how he got on…
My week working with ClientsFirst has been incredibly enjoyable, they’re a great group of people who welcomed me into their office for a week and were always willing to help me with any queries and questions I had with the work I was doing.
The week gave me a great insight into the type of work the business does and the similar work that other marketing agencies do, which was very useful and interesting for me as marketing is definitely something I’m interested in doing in the future. I did a variety of work, looking at the different things that ClientsFirst do for their customers and generally being educated on the different features of digital marketing. I carried out a number of market research tasks and spreadsheet graders, I also attended internal meetings in which I gained further experience of what life in the working world is like; all a big positive for me.
The office environment and atmosphere is extremely positive and everyone seems to get on really well, therefore, they all work very well as a team; the in-house football table and dartboard that I saw on day one were my first indications of the relaxed working environment I was about to experience, all of which, I believe, help ClientsFirst be the successful company they are. I worked closely with Matt, a digital marketing executive who has worked for the company for around a year; he showed me a large range of things that ClientsFirst do and also explained everything perfectly, giving me a thorough understanding of the operations of the business, and generally being a great colleague and teacher. Sam, who is the head of the digital department, was the first to greet me on Monday morning, he was incredibly polite and always made an effort to get me into meetings so that I could get a better picture of what ClientsFirst do and experience the working environment more, for which I was very grateful.
One particular piece of software that the company is starting to use really interested me and really showcases the forward thinking minds that work at ClientsFirst, and the current advancements in the field of marketing. I have had a faultless week and enjoyed every day working with the digital team – it has been a real pleasure and I hope my delivery of Krispy Kreme doughnuts on the last day has shown my gratitude to them for allowing me to work here this week!
